The Medway Osteopathic Clinic

Rochester's Original Osteopath with 25 Years of Local Experience

Welcome to the website of the Medway Osteopathy Clinic, in Rochester. Gary Lutz has spent 26 years helping patients from the surrounding Kent and Medway areas from his clinic at 34 and 36 city way. From back pain relief and sporting injuries to herniated discs and joint pain, our motto is ‘for treatment when your body fails to function’ we do much more than just musculoskeletal work. Gary lectures in the treatment of the whole body.

Although our own history is particularly extensive, osteopathy has been in use since the end of the 19th Century. John Martin Littlejohn, a physiologist created classical osteopathy and discovered the best way to achieve good health is to have every part of the body working in simultaneous harmony. Every aspect of healthcare was covered in those days.

Our own clinic in Rochester specialises in all aspects of classical and modern osteopathy including cranial. Osteopathy has been previously described as 'that done by osteopaths. An osteopath is a person who practices osteopathy'. Gary Lutz, our own osteopath, is registered with the General Osteopathic Council. Patients seeking treatment for sciatica, faster recovery from sporting injuries and back pain relief can safely look for help from an osteopath without consulting a general medical practitioner in the first instance. We are primary care practitioners operating privately.

Our complete coverage of the Kent and Medway areas gives our patients a single and highly accessible option for all of their treatment needs. Treatments by appointment only at our City Way Clinic. Call us on (01634) 814700 to book your appointment.

Reasons to use our clinic

The one bit of philosophy from Emmanuel Kant that people remember is:

“Experience without theory is blind, theory without experience mere intellectual play.”

I’ve been involved in studying and working in osteopathy for 33 years now, as a student, practitioner, lecturer of both undergraduates and the qualified, mentor etc.

I’ve also run a forum for osteopaths, concentrating on classical osteopathic theory and I teach classical osteopathic technique as well as discussing a wide range of topics on the professional forum.

Theory and practice, the way to work out what is wrong with you and how to treat it.
